David Cutri, Chair of the Board, is the Executive Director of Internal Audit and Chief Compliance Officer for the University of Toledo. He is responsible for the university’s internal audit and compliance functions. David joined UT in this role in June 2009. He previously served as audit director at NiSource Inc. in Columbus, a natural gas and electric distribution and transmission utility. Throughout his career he has worked in a variety of audit, risk management, finance and accounting, technology and consulting roles with major companies, including Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, National City Corporation and Arthur Young and Company/Ernst and Young. David earned bachelors’ degrees in accounting and management information systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in business administration from the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Internal Auditor and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Gerald “Jerry” L. Mills, Treasurer, is a retired attorney whose practice consisted principally of representing small businesses and their owners, related business transactions and estate planning. He retired in 2015 after 47 years of practice. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and a law degree from Ohio State University. His community activities have included being chairman of the board of the Toledo Repertoire Theater and the First Unitarian Church of Toledo and board membership of the Toledo Fair Housing Center, where he is also a volunteer tester. He has been a Rescue Board member for many years, having previously been chairman.
Judith Anderson, PhD, RN, Secretary, is a Professor Emerita from the former Medical College of Ohio where she served in the College of Nursing as faculty, department chair and interim dean of the graduate nursing program. Judy received her diploma from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Sandusky, Ohio, a BSN from the Ohio State University, an MSN as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist from the Medical College of Ohio and her PhD in Nursing from Wayne State University. She was nationally certified as an adult mental health clinical nurse specialist. Her clinical nursing and research experiences were on the local and state levels in community health with a focus on homeless adults and professionals struggling with addictions. Judy has published widely in professional journals.
Keith Burmeister is the Vice President and Chief Relations Officer for St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. He is responsible for marketing and planning, physician relations and business development for the hospital. Keith has worked for over 30 years in healthcare including clinical, financial and operational experience. He has earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Administrative Services from the University of Toledo and his Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Findlay.
Dr. Kettlie Daniels is a board certified psychiatrist in private practice providing treatment to both adolescents and adults. Kettlie also offers treatment to individuals with opioid dependency. Her approach to treatment encourages the use of the natural remedies, including the use of fresh air, sunlight, water, proper diet and exercise.
Dr. Kay Grothaus received her BSN and master’s degree in nursing from the Medical College of Ohio and her doctorate in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Toledo. Kay is a retired member of the College of Nursing faculty where she taught psychiatric nursing in both the undergrad and graduate programs for 25 years. Her last position at the College was the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Toledo which she held for four years. Kay has Associate Professor Emerita faculty status at the University. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist certified in child and adolescent psychiatric nursing throughout the American Nurses Credentialing Center with prescriptive authority and for many years she had a private psychiatric mental health nursing practice with a collaborating physician. For her work with families, women and children, she was awarded the Advanced Practice Award from the Ohio Nurses Association and was named a Toledo Woman of Achievement by the Women in Communications Organization. She has presented in the area of eating disorders and its treatment regionally, nationally and internationally, and she has several refereed publications on the topic of eating disorders.
Steve Hansen is the head of Rescue’s HR Committee. Steve has over 36 years of combined experience working in Human Resources Administration: 25 years with Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital and 11+ years with Northwest Ohio Developmental Center. Steve holds a B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation from Indiana State University, an M.S. in Recreation Administration from Indiana State University and an M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration from the University of Toledo.
Patti Lyden, Esq. is a founding member of the law firm of Lyden, Chappell & Dewhirst, Ltd. and has been practicing law for over 35 years. Her practice is primarily focused in all facets of real estate and business law, including sales, acquisition, leasing, development and financing. She has also served on the boards of many community organizations including Habitat for Humanity and St. John’s Jesuit High School.
Steven Marcus is Vice President of National Payor Relations and Contracting for InfuSystem Holdings, Inc. based in Madison Heights, Michigan. He holds a BS in Biology and an MA in Economics from Bowling Green State University. Steven has spent nearly 30 years in the healthcare industry as a highly accomplished business leader with extensive managed care, payer relations and revenue cycle experience. His past and present affiliations include membership in the Ohio Governor’s Task Force on Health Transformation, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Healthcare Roundtable Revenue Officers and the National Institute of Healthcare Leadership.
Dr. Matt O’Connor is the Learning Strategy Leader at Owens Corning. He is responsible for designing learning strategy, implementation and analytics. Prior to his role at Owens Corning, Matt worked for HCR ManorCare for 15 years focusing primarily on the measurement of SNF patient and family satisfaction and assisting SNF management teams to improve customer experience. Matt has served as a member of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) Customer Experience Committee and was one of the primary researchers on the development of the CoreQ satisfaction measure. Matt holds a PhD in Statistics and Measurement from the University of Toledo, an MBA with concentration in Healthcare Management from the University of Findlay, an MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Xavier University and a BA in Psychology from the University of Toledo. In addition, Matt recently completed Villanova’s Healthcare Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
