The Community Based Stabilization (CBS) program is a voluntary program that provides monitoring, counseling, community support service, and nursing services in the community in which the client lives and /or spends time. Clients referred to CBS should be experiencing an emotional, behavioral, situational, or psychiatric disruption that requires more treatment than standard outpatient care. Those in crisis will be referred to Rescue’s Emergency Services. CBS is an option that allows the client to remain in the community. The CBS program is staffed 7 days a week from 8:30 am to 10:00 pm. CBS is closed on major holidays. The goal of the CBS program is to maintain the client in the community while addressing their needs in the least restrictive environment. An individualized treatment plan is developed with the client to address their mental health and substance abuse needs. The client’s significant others are essential to their treatment and will be encouraged to participate. Staffing consists of licensed professionals, nurses and peer staff who are able to model health and stability, and connect with clients due to a shared experience of mental illness.
